Our Mission
Our Beliefs
PREVENTION:
We believe most suicide is preventable. In many cases, people are not trying to end their life, rather they are desperate to stop the pain they feel. Our goal is to provide resources to support mental wellness to reinforce the idea that suicide is not the way
CONNECTION:
We know that creating meaningful connections between humans is essential, as well as promoting kindness, understanding, and listening as the foundations for positive mental health and suicide prevention. We believe that deep, meaningful relationships provide support and assist others in strengthening their personal resilience and courage to live
EDUCATION:
We strive to offer insightful information and education for those living with mental health issues and those who support them. Mental health issues can have a huge impact on everyone including family, friends and co-workers. Our goal is to empower people to give help and get help.
ACTION:
We have a responsibility to act when someone is in pain. We strive to provide resources that are empowering to those in need, as well as providing resources for knowing what to say and where to look for help.
We Connect with Everyone
At the Cook Center, we believe that every person deserves respect, compassion, and the opportunity to feel connected and supported. We are committed to helping individuals and families strengthen human connection and access vital mental health resources. We value the wide range of life experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds that shape who people are and strive to create a culture of trust, understanding, and belonging—in our workplace and in the communities we serve.
