Our Mission

The mission of the Cook Center for Human Connection is to bring together the best organizations, programs and products to prevent suicide, provide mental health support, and enhance human connections essential for people to thrive.

Our Beliefs

We believe most suicide is preventable. In many cases, people are not trying to end their life, rather they are desperate to stop the pain they feel. Our goal is to provide resources to support mental wellness to reinforce the idea that suicide is not the way

We know that creating meaningful connections between humans is essential, as well as promoting kindness, understanding, and listening as the foundations for positive mental health and suicide prevention. We believe that deep, meaningful relationships provide support and assist others in strengthening their personal resilience and courage to live

We strive to offer insightful information and education for those living with mental health issues and those who support them. Mental health issues can have a huge impact on everyone including family, friends and co-workers. Our goal is to empower people to give help and get help.

We have a responsibility to act when someone is in pain. We strive to provide resources that are empowering to those in need, as well as providing resources for knowing what to say and where to look for help.

We Connect with Everyone

At the Cook Center, we believe that human connection is best achieved when people of all races, ethnicities, backgrounds, abilities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses and gender identities come together as friends and equals. We are committed to helping all people find human connection as well as mental health resources and support. We strive to make the world a better place in our workplace and in the communities we serve by fostering belonging and empowerment, and we celebrate the unique perspectives of each of our employees and clients.
