Rhonda Caldwell

Chief Executive Officer,
KASA

Dr. Rhonda Caldwell is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA). She is known as a dynamic and visionary leader who has propelled the association to remarkable growth through member engagement, strategic business partnerships, expanded leadership programs, and a high-performing staff team.

As KASA’s trailblazing first female director, she takes immense pride in spearheading the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership, a transformative group dedicated to empowering women to reach their full potential in their careers, along with other programs such as the Kentucky Executive Leadership Academy for aspiring leaders. A staunch advocate for public education, Dr. Caldwell’s commitment is evident through her leadership of the Coalition to Sustain the Education Profession, a groundbreaking statewide initiative aimed at addressing the critical teacher shortage. Her tireless efforts to improve the education landscape have made a lasting impact on countless students and educators. Dr. Caldwell is a lifelong learner having earned a degree from Midway College, an MBA from Campbellsville University, and a doctorate in Education Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.

In addition, she has earned the esteemed Certified Association Executive credential, a distinction held by only five percent of nonprofit leaders nationwide. Her dedication to personal growth is evident in her completion of Cornell University’s Executive Women in Leadership program and her certification as a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge® and coach of the Leadership Practices Inventory (Kouzes, Posner). A servant leader at heart, Dr. Caldwell has dedicated her career to serving the state’s public school leaders. Her unwavering commitment to her personal values, rooted in faith and inspired by Hebrews 11:1, serves as a guiding force in her leadership. Dr. Caldwell’s global perspective has been shaped through education tours in Finland, Canada, mainland China, and Hong Kong. She serves as a guest speaker and facilitator of education sessions at both national and state levels, sharing her wealth of knowledge and inspiring others to create positive change. In addition, she serves on the Kentucky Purple Star Award Advisory Board, the Kentucky Coalition for Healthy Children Steering Committee, and several state and national groups.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Caldwell embraces life’s adventures with open arms. She enjoys travel and is an avid hiker and especially enjoys trails in other countries such as sections of the Great Wall of China, Peru’s Machu Picchu, Scotland’s West Highland Way Trail, and Italy’s Via Francigena. As a cancer survivor since 2010, Dr. Caldwell cherishes each new day and remains dedicated to her passion for family, friends, and colleagues. 

Sarah Walsh

Director, School & Community Advocacy,
Cook Center for Human Connection

Sarah Walsh serves as the Director of School and Community Advocacy at the Cook Center for Human Connection, an organization focused on strengthening human connections and providing mental health support to prevent suicide. In this role, Sarah collaborates with schools and community organizations to promote mental health awareness and implement programs that foster supportive and inclusive environments.

Sarah brings a wealth of experience to her work at the Cook Center. With a strong background in education and program development, she has held leadership positions in both nonprofit organizations and educational settings. Her expertise spans areas such as curriculum development, teacher training, and the creation of initiatives to support student well-being.

Her career reflects a steadfast commitment to enhancing inclusive practices, addressing mental health challenges, and empowering educators and community leaders to support student success.

Grace Brown

Sr. Manager of Curriculum & Program Development,
Cook Center for Human Connection

Grace Brown, a dedicated advocate for nationwide mental health, joined the Cook Center for Human Connection with extensive expertise in implementing strategies for student achievement. As an Implementation and professional development expert, she’s coached educators in over 800 classrooms across the US.
Grace seamlessly combines deep expertise with a talent for simplifying and making complex concepts compelling. Grace crafted the curriculum for “My Life Is Worth Living” mental health web series and offers innovation that countless educators and administrators have implemented. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and a Graduate Certificate in Early Educational Leadership from Harvard.

Michelle Bartsch

Vice President of Education,
Cook Center for Human Connection

Michelle Bartsch, as Vice President of Education at Cook Center for Human Connection, has been a leading force in mental wellness and non-profit initiatives across communities, schools and organizations nationwide for over 15 years.  Her visionary work in developing ParentGuidance.org — a no-cost mental health resource—has been crucial in providing essential support to thousands of schools and millions of families over the past 4 years.  Michelle also played a key role in the creation and launch of My Life is Worth Living, the first animated web series focused on youth mental health and suicide prevention.  Additionally, she pioneered the Leadership & Happiness Symposium, an initiative that equips essential executive school and community leaders with the tools to make systemic improvements to their communities’ mental health cultures.  

A highly sought-after keynote speaker, Michelle focuses on youth mental health initiatives and critical mental health support for staff, families and communities. Her voice has driven change at both state and national levels, championing the importance of education, leadership and human connection.  Michelle holds a master of Science in Education and Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Wesleyan University.
